Interview With Aradia
Kyle (Geek Casket): What are your top 3 favourite Science Fiction shows and or movies?
Aradia: It’s infused into a lot of what I sing about, be it literally Sci-Fi or simply the subject matter (such as ethics) often dealt with in Sci-Fi. An example is my song “M-Class Planet,” which was inspired by Allen Steele’s Coyote Series, Battlestar Gallactica, and Star Trek.
Kyle (Geek Casket): If you had to time travel 1000 years into the future what item would you take with you and why?
Aradia: Is my dog an item? Because I’d definitely take him—he has magical powers and is generally awesome. If it has to be inanimate, I’d bring a bottle of wine, because hey, you never know whether the future will call for celebration or the need to mellow out a bit.
Kyle (Geek Casket): What Science Fiction do you watch nowadays?
Aradia: I’ll watch any Sci-Fi movie that comes out—from any country. Good Sci-Fi TV shows are harder to come by & are more of an investment. I do watch The Walking Dead and Revolution, & started watching The Fades recently, as well.
The Seattle-based singer/songwriter has culled an original sound that can only be called ‘roktronika’; born of a love for new wave, trip-hop, rock and hardcore Electronica. The daughter of a musician/music therapist and a ballet dancer, Aradia was immersed in the world of music. Like a fish in water, Aradia thrived in her environment. She began playing piano at 3 years old, flute at 8 and guitar at 14. All the while Aradia was plying her voice to any song she could find.
